La
Chaîne des Rôtisseurs
is an international gastronomic society founded in Paris in 1950, devoted to promoting fine dining & preserving
the camaraderie & pleasures of the table. The "Chaine" (pronounced shen) unites professional &
amateur gastronomes in a private, not-for-profit society, committed to promoting the culinary arts & enology
through example, education, & camaraderie.
The Confrérie encourages the development of young
professionals by awarding scholarships & sponsoring competitions; & internationally, the Chaîne
fosters friendships among members around the world.
The Chaîne exists in
over 100 countries. Local members may participate in other chapters' events Regionally, Nationally, or Internationally. In
the U.S., there are over 6,500 members in nearly 150 Bailliages across the country. The Southeast Region is comprised
of 14 Bailliages across the State of Florida with almost one thousand members strong.
